Sometimes it seems only a nurse can bring technical information down to an understanding that an ordinary person can grasp. The Nurse Florence® book series provides high quality medical information that even a child can grasp. By introducing young kids to correct terminology and science concepts at an early age, we can help increase our children’s health literacy level as well as help to prepare them for courses and jobs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We need more scientists so I hope that many children will enjoy this book series and consider a job involving science.

So yes, I had always thought that I might be good at writing and illustrating children's books. Not until the other day had I played around with anyone idea. Above, you can see the concept sketch for the main character and title of the book I thought about.

Since becoming a father of an amazing son, I have many times thought about the lessons of life he will learn and how many I might be able to help him understand. What better way than through a book?

Not sure yet what Loyd would do, but it might be about teaching kids to remain objective and not judge other by what society says about the type of person they are, look-like, or hang-out with.

At the very least, it was nice to do some fun sketching.
