Hey Stargazers, Almost home on a walk this evening and I look N, NW up the street and observe a train of glowing lights coming over the horizon at a good clip, all in a straight lime, about a pin head or star size each, and making no noise. Thankfully, I was only startled for a second as it was truly a sight to behold. There was an aura about the central points of light. I stood and observed as it crossed from about the 320 to 340 degree mark, about 10 to 20 degrees into the sky, rose at a peak of about 80 degees overhead, and sailed quickly over me and vanished in SSE position about 170 degrees from what was about north. It was actually no lomger visible at about 15 to 20 degrees above the southern horizon. I could make out about 20 to 30 distinctly bright objects, with on trailing at the end. The time was about 8:53 pm when I saw it first and it vanished about 1 or 2 minutes later. The night was clear tonight, about 60 degrees with some moisture visible in the air I suspect contributed to the apparent glow of the lights. Well, it didn't take me long to realize it was a Starlink. What a site to behold. It made local and other news in the state of Wisconsin. In fact, MUFON WI received two reports one right after another with a video in one a description in another that fit what I saw. The website for space-x says there was a recent launch of 53 Satlink satellites today April 21 2022 about a Flacon 9. The website starlink finder confirms my location as a GOOD viewing point for that Starlink at that time. I did take video and pics but only had my phone with me. Check em out below and enjoy. So, sadly no UFO. But still fun to see. https://youtube.com/shorts/S0ctJVEayfo?feature=share https://www.spacex.com/launches/sl4-14/ https://findstarlink.com/#5275020;3

Rescheduled to April 26th Due to illness I had to cancel my previously scheduled presentation at the DeForest Public Library. This was on the calendar for today from 3 to 4:30 PM in the Community Room. I apologize to all that had made plans to go. I worked with Brian to get a new date and time in the books already. If you haven't seen my flyers in and around town, it goes over the details. This presentation in a very high-level introduction to the realm of Ufology. We walk through defining it, what it is not, the history of Ufology (ancient and contemporary), famous (or infamous names in Ufology), go through what you should do if you think are seeing one, and go over a brief introduction to MUFON. Here is the new time and date: DeForest Public Library Community Room in basement April 26th 6 to 7:30 PM You can see below for the new, updated flyer! Invite a friend. Email with questions and RSVP just to get an idea of people attending: tkaney.mufon.wi@gmail.com. You can also RSVP using the form below. The room can only hold about 30 to 40. (Please be kind, it is my first time). Thanks! Tim ![]() My name is Tim Kaney and I am a Field Investigator for the Wisconsin Chapter of MUFON or the 'Mutual UFO Network'. Check their website here: https://mufon.com/. I have investigated nearly 20 cases since joining up. How Did I Get Involved? To keep things short and to the point, I have had a lifelong interest, for sometimes unknown reasons, in the odd, strange, and unusual. Particularly of interest in the last few years has been the most taboo pop culture topic - that of the ubiquitous flying saucers, UFOS (unidentified flying objects), USOs (unidentified submersible objects, and now as the government termed them - UAPs (unidentified aerial phenomena). This interest was highly developed from accounts received by family members, my own experiences, and a trigger of sorts in recent years that sent me on a personal journey to find answers and help others along the way. I reached out to MUFON and began their very thorough training course for Field Investigators. It goes through techniques for gathering evidence, conducting witness interviews, managing records, and evaluating all pieces of data to detect deceptions, hoaxes, and lies in order to uncover the rare few of truly unknown UFO sightings and events. It was a very grueling but rewarding training program and I was very excited to complete it with a passing grade. From their, I mentored under an amazing tutor (a fellow investigator from the east coast) and also MUFON's Director of Investigations. |
