#Lego #Mech #Builds! #ACVD Hey out there! Posting after a long time here, apologies. Moved, new job, adjusting, and LOTS of client work I cannot share at the moment. Wanted to share these new items of art and crafting, though - Sci Fi and Armored Core inspired LEGO mech builds. I did this as a way to keep busy while my two young boys played with their LEGOS. I gave myself a few parameters, as you can see. One was to choose colors and keep to those primarily for each LEGO mech build. While laborious and tedious and sometimes extending the build for a week for that one part that just refused to appear and remain elusively recalcitrant, I think the overall payoff and result was worth it. Another was to think back to the armored cores of YORE, chose a platform to build around, and then go from there. So, as you can see, I have a primarily WHEELED base (like the tracked tank version, but at the time, I did not have a set of LEGO tracks, so I did the wheels). The next was based on the base that was to be one of my favorites within Armored Core - the 4 legged, quadruped used for mobility. After that was the bi-pedal, 2-footed, chicken-walker base. Further, these were based on weapon types and combat styles. One was mobile fire support and air defense, next was close combat and crowd control, and then quick and nimble hard hitting precision long range combat. After it all, I was very keenly aware of how this turned into more than a thing to pass the time. It was slowly and quickly at the same time moving from interest to passion to obsession. If anyone was wondering, I did all these from my head with no visual reference, no manuals, no instructions. I tried many iterations, many pieces, and many failed attempts. Once done, I picked a few photos and edited rough and dirty in photoshop. Tried a filter on them as well. That is the above gallery. I look to do a few more and was also very much inspired by boards of even better versions of these on pinterest. Hope you you all enjoy this and happy to hear from you all. Hit me up in the comments. More build photos below. C&C welcome. ~TSKANEY (Apologies, photos are on phone and in between wild kids)
